Job description

Position Summary

The Clinical Oversight Registered Nurse provides assessments, care plan oversight, PCA competency validation, and quality assurance for clients receiving non-medical home care services.

This role focuses on ensuring safe, compliant, and person-centered care while supporting caregivers and collaborating with agency leadership.

This is not a bedside nursing position. The role is primarily focused on assessments, supervisory visits, caregiver competency validation, and documentation oversight.

Responsibilities

Client Assessments & Oversight

  • Conduct initial client assessments in the home.
  • Perform reassessments and supervisory visits according to agency policy.
  • Develop, review, and revise client service plans.
  • Evaluate changes in client condition and recommend updates to care plans as needed.
  • Ensure services provided align with the clientโ€™s needs and safety.

PCA Training & Competency Validation

  • Provide oversight for PCA competency validation.
  • Conduct hands-on skills observation and competency sign-offs.
  • Support ongoing PCA education and reinforcement of best practices.
  • Ensure caregivers demonstrate competency before working with medically frail or special-condition clients.

Documentation & Quality Assurance

  • Review caregiver care notes and documentation for completeness and compliance.
  • Ensure service plans, assessments, and supervisory visit documentation are completed accurately.
  • Identify documentation concerns or care gaps and communicate recommendations.
  • Support agency readiness for compliance reviews and audits.

Care Team Support

  • Collaborate with caregivers, families, and agency leadership.
  • Provide guidance regarding client care concerns.
  • Counsel staff on challenging care situations when needed.
  • Communicate concerns related to client safety or care quality.

Qualifications

  • Active RN License in the State of Georgia.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Familiarity with Georgia home care regulations and standards preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable traveling to client homes within the service area.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software.
