Part-time

This job post has expired today. Applications are no longer accepted.

Job description

About College Readiness Labs

College Readiness Labs provides practical, student-facing college-readiness programming to schools and college-access organizations. Our growing digital library is designed to give students clear, step-by-step instruction they can complete independently while allowing counselors and program staff to focus their time on individualized student support.

Our current flagship program is our 8-module Common App Essay Course. Additional programming includes a UC Personal Insight Questions (PIQ) course, FAFSA and financial-aid programming, and financial-literacy education. We are building our institutional sales team and are hiring multiple remote Education Sales Representatives.

The Role

This is a remote, part-time, commission-only sales position with no base salary.

You will be assigned a defined territory or program market and provided with a substantial list of prospective institutional customers. Depending on your assigned territory, prospects may include private schools, charter schools, public high schools, TRIO/GEAR UP programs, AVID programs, and other college-access organizations.

Your job is to contact qualified prospects, introduce College Readiness Labs, identify interested organizations, schedule and conduct Zoom presentations, follow up with decision-makers, and close institutional sales.

This is a good fit for someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, communicating with education professionals, following a structured sales process, and consistently working their assigned leads.

What You’ll Do

  • Contact company-provided institutional leads by phone and email
  • Speak with school counselors, college-access professionals, program directors, administrators, and other decision-makers
  • Clearly explain the College Readiness Labs library and institutional pricing
  • Qualify interested organizations
  • Schedule and conduct Zoom sales presentations
  • Follow up with prospects through the purchasing and approval process
  • Maintain accurate lead and follow-up information in the company CRM
  • Work your assigned territory consistently and independently
  • Participate in initial product and sales training

Compensation

This position pays 10% commission on initial institutional sales.

Current institutional pricing includes:

  • Up to 25 students: $2,499 total
  • Up to 75 students: $4,999 total
  • Up to 150 students: $7,499 total

That means commission on a single sale can commonly range from approximately $250 to $750, with larger opportunities possible.

Our goal for a productive representative after ramp-up is approximately 2-3 authorized sales per week.

The advertised $500–$1,500 weekly earnings range reflects potential commission earnings for productive representatives and is not guaranteed. There is no base salary or hourly wage.

Schedule

This is a flexible remote role generally requiring approximately 15–25 hours per week.

Representatives have flexibility in how they organize their work, but because customers are schools and education organizations, prospecting and sales conversations generally need to occur during normal weekday business hours.

What We Provide

  • A defined sales territory
  • Company-provided prospect lists
  • Product and sales training
  • Sales scripts and call guidance
  • Zoom presentation materials
  • Institutional pricing and sales materials
  • CRM access
  • Company email account
  • Scheduling tools
  • Ongoing access to updated product information and marketing materials

You are not expected to build your own lead list.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for people who are:

  • Comfortable with outbound phone sales
  • Professional and confident speaking with institutional decision-makers
  • Able to communicate clearly without sounding scripted
  • Organized about follow-up
  • Self-directed and comfortable working remotely
  • Persistent without being aggressive
  • Comfortable working in a performance-based, commission-only role
  • Able to learn a new education product quickly

Previous sales experience is strongly preferred. Experience in education, EdTech, higher education, college admissions, nonprofit sales, institutional sales, or B2B sales is helpful but not required for the right candidate.

Important Before You Apply

Please apply only if you are comfortable with a commission-only position with no guaranteed base pay.

This role is designed for someone who wants flexibility, substantial company-provided lead volume, and the opportunity to earn meaningful commissions by consistently prospecting and closing institutional customers.
