Come and join the #1 rated PrEP provider in North America, Freddie! We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, in-person sexual health care to our patients in Calgary.

At Freddie, our patients are our #1 priority-we're passionate about delivering an exceptional, 11/10 star experience. Our in-person RN team provides empathetic, stigma-free, and patient-centered care, with a focus on PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis). This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to reducing health disparities within diverse populations, including those in the LGBTQ2IA+ community.

In this role, you'll make an impact by:

Providing Client Education and Counselling

  • Providing comprehensive sexually transmitted and blood borne infection (STBBI) prevention education to clients (with a focus on HIV prevention), including risk reduction strategies and behavioural counselling
  • Conducting pre and post-test counselling for HIV and STBBI testing, ensuring confidentiality and sensitivity to clients' needs

Delivering Expert Clinical Care and Testing

  • Administering and interpreting HIV point of care testing
  • Performing phlebotomy to collect relevant diagnostic laboratory samples
  • Initiating and managing clients on PrEP therapy, including medication education, adherence counselling, and follow-up care under supervision or directive of a licensed prescriber
  •  Providing counselling and treatment for positive STBBI results under supervision or directive of a licensed prescriber
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and detailed clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards

We need someone who has:

  • Availability for daytime and evening shifts, with openness to weekend shifts that may begin in the near term, including the possibility of virtual weekend coverage
  • A calm and non-judgmental communication style
  • Excellent communication skills and empathetic care delivery

It would also be great if you have:

  • An ambitious and independent nature
  • Nurse clinician or charge nurse experience
  • Clinical experience working with members of LGBTQ2S+, gender and sexually diverse communities
  • Experience working in the private sector, a start-up, or a technology company
  • Experience working from a trauma-informed lens

Compensation:
