Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY: Ensures effective day to day nursing operations and provides administrative support for the nursing manager and the Med Surg unit. Assists with coordination of staffing, timecards, training, and education. Assists with staff recruitment and coordination of internships and preceptorships. Assists the department manager with addressing staff issues and concerns, as well as identifying and assisting to resolve interpersonal conflicts among staff. May assist with patient care and provide emergent coverage for staffing shortfalls.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments
  2. Able to effectively perform the duties of a staff medical surgical registered nurse and as a clinical team lead/charge registered nurse.
  3. Coordinate day to day operations with CTLs as directed by manager.
  4. Assist manager with daily workflow, staffing, orientation, training, and overall unit department development.
  5. Assist manager with monitoring and accountability of performance measures, reporting requirements, and other process improvements as assigned.
  6. Support and create policies and procedures as directed by department manager.
  7. Monitor and review quality of care and documentation to ensure performance metrics are being met
  8. Provide clinical and financial data to manager and assist with evaluations as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited RN program. Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho. Current BLS. ACLS, PALS, and Basic Dysrhythmia within 6 months of hire. Preferred chemotherapy certification within 1 year of hire.
Experience: Preferred 2 years acute care nursing experience and able to demonstrate progressive leadership experience and/or training.
Equipment/Technology: Able to demonstrate basic computer knowledge and skills. Preferred experience with Cerner EMR.
Language/Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with different patients, families, visitors, staff, members of the interdisciplinary team and others.
Mathematical Skills: Knowledge of basic nursing medication calculations and the ability to educate nursing staff regarding medication calculations.
Mental Capabilities: Able to critically think in a high stress environment and prioritize information related to safe patient care, treatment plans, and follow-up.
Interpersonal: Able to collaborate direct and operate within team environment. Able to establish good working relationships with those around them.
