Job description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Neuro Acute Telemetry & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (6NNABC) at St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a 48 bed Neurosurgery/Neurological/Epilepsy Monitoring medical/surgical/telemetry unit. The Neuro Acute & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is part of the world renowned Barrow Neurological Institute. The staff take care of complex neurological and neurosurgical patients including patients with traumatic brain injuries spinal injuries brain tumors spine surgeries stroke migraine patients with epilepsy who need further in-patient evaluation and many other conditions. The members of this team are trained to be clinical experts in their field. We have a very extensive training program and many opportunities to participate in unit quality and performance improvement teams. The Neuro Acute Telemetry & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is an excellent place to learn and grow both personally and professionally. 

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices.
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse: AZ
  • American Heart Association BLS


Preferred

  • One year recent acute care experience 
  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing
