The Opportunity

The Store Sales Associate is a key member of the US Commercial team and plays an important role in delivering an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced retail environment. This position supports retail and contractor customers by providing product recommendations, color matching, order support, and outstanding service.

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Store Sales Associate helps drive sales success while maintaining a clean, organized, and customer-focused store environment.

The starting pay rate for this role is $16/hour.

This position is scheduled within typical store hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 7am – 5pm  
  • Saturday: 8am – 12pm  
  • Sunday: Closed  

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by understanding customer needs and recommending the right products and solutions
  • Assist retail and contractor customers with product selection, color matching, and order processing
  • Mix, tint, and match paint products according to customer specifications
  • Build knowledge of Pittsburgh Paints Company brands, products, and store processes
  • Process customer orders and payments through phone, in-person, online, and email channels
  • Support sales initiatives and contribute to achieving store sales goals
  • Load, drive, and deliver customer orders via company vehicle
  • Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues when needed
  • Safely handle, load, unload, and organize products for stocking and order fulfillment
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment
  • Support daily store operations and team priorities as needed

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license required, must pass all background items and physical
  • Customer service experience preferred with a team-focused approach
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers in a professional manner
  • Ability to use a computer and keyboard for order processing and customer support
  • Ability to work scheduled hours as needed, including flexibility based on business needs
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally and 40–60 pounds routinely, including standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
  • Ability to operate a hand truck and/or material handling equipment
