  • Train, supervise, and support volunteer tutors and program assistants.
  • Maintain site safety by enforcing emergency protocols and child protection policies.
  • Foster strong partnerships with school staff and host site representatives.
  • Share weekly updates via a digital newsletter with stakeholders.
  • Manage site-level administrative tasks, including timesheet approvals for staff.

A Typical Day Might Look Like:

  • Welcome students and volunteers; oversee sign-in and safety procedures
  • Facilitate structured academic lessons and individualized tutoring
  • Monitor enrichment or social-emotional activities
  • Debrief with volunteers, wrap up documentation, communicate updates
  • Depart after ensuring space is clean, secure, and all students are picked up safely

What Success Looks Like
Success as a Site Director means:
  • Students are progressing academically and feel supported socially and emotionally.
  • Volunteers feel equipped and appreciated in their roles.
  • Parents and school partners feel connected and informed.
  • Site operations run smoothly and safely every day.
  • Program goals are met or exceeded, including student attendance, assessment benchmarks, and family engagement.

Qualifications & Requirements
Highly Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • At least one year of experience working with K–5 students
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Confidence in leading a classroom independently
  • Physical ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs., climb stairs, and move quickly between classrooms
  • Experience managing a team and/or volunteers
Technology Requirements:
  • Must provide own laptop
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired Skills and Attributes:
  • Retired educators (K–12) encouraged to apply
  • Fluent in Spanish (preferred, not required)
  • Passion for educational equity and community engagement
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse families, volunteers, and school staff
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and collaborative—aligned with LaAmistad’s core values:
