Job description

Position Summary
The Restaurant Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for the guest entering the restaurant and bar. Primary responsibility is to ensure exceptional guest service by warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations, and seating guest promptly. Assists in maintaining a clean and organized environment, working closely with the restaurant and bar staff to ensure a seamless dining experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Greets guests as they arrive with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  2. Escorts guests to their tables, providing assistance as needed, such as pulling out chairs and presenting menus.
  3. Answers phone calls and inquiries regarding reservations, in a professional manner.
  4. Accurately records reservation details and special requests in the reservation booklet or system.
  5. Communicates special requests or VIP guests to the appropriate personnel.
  6. Always maintains a positive attitude and professional appearance.
  7. Relays important information to guests, such as wait times.
  8. Inspects dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
  9. Maintains contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly, and customer's concerns are addressed.
  10. Takes "to go" orders, checks, and ensures all items are given to customer correctly.
  11. Takes room service orders and notifies room service attendant.
  12. Performs daily transactions involving cash, credit cards, comps, and food vouchers.
  13. Assists in taking food to rooms for room service.
  14. Assists servers with drinks.
  15. Makes daily floor plans of rotations for servers.
  16. Packages takeout orders.
  17. Keeps track of all servers, when not on floor, to ensure guest is seated with an available server.
  18. Helps bussers buss tables when needed.
  19. Ensures guests have a great experience by not overwhelming the server or the bartender, so they can give exceptional service.
  20. Places guest on wait list and call or texts them when table is available, notifies kitchen of big parties.
  21. Confirms with front desk about amenities.
  22. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

Additional Responsibilities
  1. Preforms other job-related duties as assigned.
  2. A quality guest service experience is an essential component for all Team members working at the Pueblo of Sandia particularly those positions assigned to work in all public areas.

  2. Reflects a sense of trust, comfort and understanding by demonstrating empathy for guests when problems occur.
  3. Resolves all issues in a timely manner, ensuring guest satisfaction and exceeding expectations. Possesses knowledge and understanding of all products and services offered.
  4. Builds relationships with guests based upon respect, and confidence while maintaining a friendly, and approachable demeanor.

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) identified as a measurement of success. KPI's will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI's as part of the performance review process.

  4. Available to work weekends and holidays.

Preferred:

  2. Restaurant experience.
