Job description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Med - Hematology & Oncology, is seeking a Clinical Research Recruiter (Part-Time).

General Responsibilities

  • To recruit, schedule and perform follow-up with research participants as protocols dictate.

  • To maintain current contact information for all past, present and potential study participants along with referring facilities.

  • To create and execute recruitment strategies based on needs of protocol.

  • May work evenings depending on study needs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Assists with recruitment of participants for a national research study through phone calls, including some evenings (5-8 pm) and weekends (Saturdays 9 am-5 pm).

  2. Emailing and mailing the study material to participants.

  3. Attends team meetings and provides regular updates to the supervisors. There is an opportunity to develop skills in health services research, poster and oral presentation, and writing manuscripts for those interested, with dedicated mentoring.

  4. Calls patients to enroll in clinical trials, enters participant data into the database, and emails participants

  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly Range:   $15.00 - $24.40

High School diploma or GED required.

Preferences

  • Willing to work nights and weekends.

  • Must be comfortable speaking on the phone.
