Cashier / Window Salesman

GUTHRIE’S CHICKEN 

Job Description – Team Member (Full-Time & Part-Time)  

Supervision Received and Exercised
  • Reports directly to Shift Managers and the General Manager.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate guest service while upholding Guthrie’s standards of hospitality and food quality.
  • Prepare and serve Guthrie’s menu items with care, consistency, and attention to safety.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times.
  • Greet guests with energy and professionalism to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
  • Support fellow team members across kitchen, service, and dining areas as needed.
  • Use kitchen and service equipment correctly and safely, following training guidelines.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, team-first mentality, and pride in representing Guthrie’s.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development with an eagerness to learn.

Compensation Classification
Hourly, Non-Exempt
Non-Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain physical condition appropriate to assigned duties, including:
    • Standing and walking for extended periods 
    • Lifting up to 50 lbs overhead
  • Use visual and auditory awareness for:
    • Monitoring surroundings and guest needs 
    • Reading orders and communicating clearly with the team

Position Requirements
  • Completion of Guthrie’s in-store training program
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to follow instructions, work well under pressure, and communicate respectfully
  • Full-Time: Typically works 28–40 hours/week
  • Part-Time: Typically works up to 28 hours/week, based on availability and restaurant needs

Working Conditions
  • Restaurant environment:
    • Exposure to kitchen equipment (fryers, grills, refrigeration units), cleaning agents, and food prep materials 
    • Fast-paced, high-energy atmosphere requiring constant mobility
  • Guest service area:
    • Frequent interaction with guests 
    • Use of point-of-sale (POS) systems and front-of-house tools
  • Physical demands include:
    • Standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks for long periods
