Part Time Remote Travel Writer information

What is a part time remote travel writer?

A part time remote travel writer is a professional who creates written content about travel experiences, destinations, tips, and guides, typically working for websites, magazines, or blogs. Unlike full-time or on-site positions, these writers work remotely from any location and on a part-time basis, allowing for a flexible schedule. Their responsibilities may include writing articles, reviewing destinations or accommodations, and sometimes providing photographs to accompany their stories. This role is ideal for those who have a passion for travel, strong writing skills, and the ability to work independently.

How do part time remote travel writers typically gather accurate information about destinations they may not physically visit?

Part-time remote travel writers often rely on a combination of virtual research, interviews with locals, and digital resources to craft authentic content about destinations. They may use reputable travel guides, tourism board websites, and social media to stay current on trends and experiences. Networking with other writers and industry professionals can also provide insider tips and firsthand accounts. This approach helps ensure articles remain informative and engaging, even when firsthand travel isn't possible.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time remote travel writer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Remote Travel Writer, you need excellent writing, research, and storytelling skills, often supported by a background in journalism, communications, or English. Familiarity with content management systems (such as WordPress), SEO tools, and basic photo editing software is commonly expected. Creativity, self-motivation, and strong time management are essential soft skills for producing engaging content while working independently. These abilities ensure high-quality, compelling travel articles that attract audiences and meet the requirements of remote work environments.

Job brief

Join Elite Escapes and turn your passion for travel into your next career.

As a Remote Travel Planner (Sales-Focused), you'll turn travel dreams into booked itineraries by pairing destination expertise with a consultative, client-first sales approach. You'll design custom trips while guiding clients from their first what if? to a confirmed reservation — whether it's a solo escape, a group getaway, a destination wedding, or a family travel experience.

What You'll Do
  • Craft personalized travel plans: flights, stays, tours, cruises, and packages built around each client's budget, style, and must-haves.
  • Connect with clients to uncover their ideal trip, present tailored options, and confidently close the sale.
  • Resolve questions and concerns promptly and professionally (payments, date changes, room upgrades, add-ons, etc.).
  • Add value with insider knowledge: hidden gems, top photo spots, local experiences, and timely deals that make each trip special.
  • Stay with clients from start to finish — pre-trip planning and payment coordination, on-trip support, and post-trip follow-ups and reviews.
What You Bring
  • Strong communication and people skills; comfortable leading conversations, handling objections, and guiding clients to a decision.
  • Ability to juggle multiple quotes, itineraries, and bookings without dropping details.
  • Fast learner when it comes to new tools — CRMs, booking engines, analytics dashboards, and collaboration platforms.
  • Background in sales, customer service, hospitality, or travel is a bonus, but not required — we provide full training.
  • Genuine love for travel and helping others explore with confidence
What You Get
  • Fully remote role part time or full time
  • Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing coaching on products, suppliers, and sales-driven planning techniques.
  • A collaborative, supportive team culture.
  • Room to grow and specialize

This role moves quickly, but if you're the person who keeps itineraries, bookings, group trips, and collaborations running smoothly — turning conversations into confirmed trips and memorable experiences — you'll thrive here.
