Responsibilities
  • Abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values.
  • Adheres to hospital policies including confidentiality.
  • Assists with orientation of new employees as assigned.
  • Provides visual and auditory observation of remote telemetry monitoring equipment for patients located in the nursing unit or intensive care unit.
  • Recognizes and interprets basic ECO rhythms.
  • Recognizes emergency situations and responds according to protocol.
  • Programs computerized equipment through digital manipulation setting alarm limits according to physician orders/protocol.
  • Maintains alarms at all times
  • Prints strips per policy.
  • Maintains equipment and verifies proper working order .
  • Sits for long periods of time observing monitors. Requires minimal supervision to safely perform patient care/essential functions.
  • Utilizes proper body mechanics when: Moving or positioning patients while applying electrodes or when moving equipment/supplies necessary to perform essential functions
  • Enters requests on computer for unit maintenance and repair.
  • Schedules and coordinates diagnostic procedures and continued care/follow up appointments.
  • Participates in orienta1ion of new personnel.
  • Maintains adequate level of telemetry stock supplies via computer ordering.
  • Utilizes a personal computer or terminal lo access the Hospital Information System.
  • Communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families and healthcare team in person and via telephone.
  • Responds to overhead pages
  • Verbally reports any variation of patient's normal rhythm to appropriate nurse promptly via person/telephone/microphone
  • Maintains accurate and complete documentation:
  • Maintains a written log on each patient
  • Submits patient charges for telemetry monitoring in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict,
  • Cooperates, helps others and improves Ille performance of the unit
  • Completes all mandatory unit, educational and hospital requirements.
  • Utilizes cost effective practices in performing all aspects of the job.
  • Assists team members to complete tasks at hand.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide competent patient care to the following patient populations: Adolescent, Adults, Geriatric
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
