The Opportunity:
Are you interested in using your technical expertise and people skills to assist a public health client in their mission to establish a modernized data presence? Our team is looking for a technical editor who can support our project team in developing clear and helpful technical documentation that both our team and customers can use in their efforts to support programmatic goals.
As a technical editor on our team, you will be responsible for collaborating with various workstreams to review, refine, and publish programmatic documentation. You will work on a range of documentation, including training content, operational processes and policies, and stakeholder communications. You'll help our team develop deliverables that are client-ready, following established style guides, formats, and rules for standardization, while ensuring all deliverables are Section 508 compliant. You should be comfortable delivering across different workstreams and varying types of documentation, providing cross-cutting support for multiple task areas. This position is located in Atlanta, GA.

You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience with technical editing
  • Experience editing and producing clear, accurate, and well-organized documentation for various audiences using appropriate tone, voice, and terminology
  • Experience developing, editing, and using templates, including creating, editing, and applying styles
  • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), project teams, and stakeholders to gather, validate, and organize information
  • Experience applying Section 508 compliance standards to various document formats
  • Experience with major style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style or GPO Style Manual
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Adobe, and common collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, and formatting skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Journalism, or Instructional Design

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
