Description:This Project Engineering Associate Manager role is focused on developing the program office for Mk7. It relies on extensive knowledge of program management principles throughout a program lifecycle and an ability to recruit and train employees. This functional leadership role will interface with the Mk7 Program Management Organization, IPTs, and functional managers from other program disciplines. This role also includes responsibilities and authority for the management of program areas and tools.
As a Project Engineering Associate Manager, you will:
• Coordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions
• Lead the development and growth of project engineers on the program
• Hire the employees for the program management organization as the team's scope grows
• Coordinate the planning, organizing, control, integration, and completion of Engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility
• Be a Full Spectrum Leader who is disciplined in value driven Project Engineering and drives design evolution in a systematic and thoughtful way
• Successful candidates typically have experience in project engineering or related engineering discipline with demonstrated systems engineering skills
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong leadership skills and whole systems thinking
• Expertise in relationship building and strong communication with employees at all levels and across multiple cultures
• Knowledge of program lifecycle and earned value management principles
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Leadership experience within the Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) Line of Business or for a major Weapon System
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, with the ability to lead multi-functional teams, build strong relationships with team members and build consensus among peers
• Demonstrated ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope
• Experience leading, developing, and implementing process improvement initiatives
• Experience building and integrating effective schedules, budgets, and business rhythms
• Active Secret or higher clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
