About Shiminly

Shiminly is an education technology company focused on helping students develop the life skills often missing from traditional academic curricula. Our platform delivers self-paced and instructor-supported programs designed to strengthen leadership, empathy, communication, emotional intelligence, financial literacy, and other real-world competencies that prepare students for success.

We are expanding our presence within K-12 schools, charter schools, school districts, and junior colleges throughout the United States.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced education-focused business development professional to help introduce Shiminly's programs to school districts, charter schools, and educational institutions.

This is not a high-volume cold-calling position. We are looking for someone who understands how schools evaluate programs, how educational buying decisions are made, and how to build relationships with administrators, principals, curriculum leaders, counselors, and district decision-makers.

The ideal candidate has previous experience working within school districts, educational administration, EdTech sales, curriculum sales, student services, counseling programs, or educational partnerships.

Responsibilities
  • Follow up on marketing-generated leads and inbound inquiries
  • Conduct outreach to K-12 school districts, charter schools, private schools, and junior colleges
  • Identify and engage decision-makers including principals, assistant principals, curriculum directors, student services leaders, counselors, and district administrators
  • Schedule and participate in virtual presentations and product demonstrations
  • Build relationships with school leaders and educational stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and sales efforts
  • Provide daily activity summaries and pipeline updates
  • Collaborate with leadership on market strategy and expansion efforts
  • Help develop and refine messaging for the K-12 and post-secondary education markets
QualificationsRequired
  • Previous experience working with school districts, educational institutions, or education-focused organizations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience conducting virtual meetings and presentations
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, Microsoft Teams, and email-based outreach
  • Ability to manage a sales process from initial contact through implementation discussions
Preferred
  • K-12 school district experience
  • EdTech sales experience
  • Curriculum, instructional technology, SEL, counseling, or student success program experience
  • Existing relationships within school districts, charter schools, or educational organizations
  • Experience selling SaaS, educational services, or curriculum-based solutions
Compensation Structure

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity.

Compensation includes:

  • Hourly base compensation
  • Performance bonuses tied to successful program adoption
  • Revenue-sharing and profit-sharing opportunities based on closed business

Our goal is to create a compensation structure that rewards long-term partnership development and successful school implementations.

To Apply

Please include:

  • A summary of your experience working with or selling to schools and school districts
  • Examples of educational programs, products, or services you have represented
  • Any existing relationships within K-12 education, charter schools, or higher education
  • Your availability and preferred weekly schedule
