What is a part time remote helpdesk?

A part time remote helpdesk job involves providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers or employees, all while working from a location outside the traditional office, such as your home. These roles typically require you to answer phone calls, respond to emails, or use chat systems to resolve IT-related issues. The hours are usually flexible and less than a standard full-time schedule, making it ideal for those needing work-life balance or supplemental income. Strong communication skills and basic technical knowledge are essential for success in this position.

To thrive as a Part Time Remote Helpdesk professional, you need a solid understanding of computer systems, troubleshooting techniques, and customer support principles, often supported by relevant IT coursework or certifications like CompTIA A+. Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving abilities are standout soft skills in this role. These competencies are crucial for efficiently resolving user issues, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and ensuring smooth technical operations from a remote setting.

Do you love working one-on-one with students? Are you passionate about helping them build the skills they need to succeed not just in school, but in life? Join Engaging Minds, a growing executive function coaching and tutoring company, as a part-time Instructor!

About Us:

Since 2010, Engaging Minds has provided one-on-one support for students in grades 4-College to help them strengthen executive function skills such as time management, organization, planning, and follow-through. We believe in teaching students how to learn, not just what to learn and we equip them with strategies they can use across subjects to become more motivated, independent, and confident learners.

What You'll Do:

As an Instructor at Engaging Minds, you'll work one-on-one with students in 55-minute virtual sessions, helping them develop essential executive function skills. You'll receive robust training and ongoing coaching, and our team will match you with students based on grade level and learning style. After your initial onboarding, you'll manage your own schedule with flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized coaching sessions that strengthen executive function skills
  • Follow Engaging Minds' proven methodology and strategies
  • Submit session summaries via our internal system (EMChat) within 24 hours
  • Collaborate with our scheduling team and Learning Specialists to ensure student success
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities

Why You'll Love Working With Us

  • Flexible scheduling around your availability
  • Comprehensive training and continuous coaching support
  • No extensive prep or curriculum development required
  • A welcoming, team-based culture that values curiosity, reflection, and growth

You're a Great Fit If You Have:

  • A bachelor's degree (Master's in education or a related field preferred or in progress)
  • 2+ years of experience in teaching, special education, counseling, speech-language pathology, or similar
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A collaborative, coachable mindset with a passion for student development

Compensation:

  • $36 per student session: This includes a 55-minute session, completion of a post-session summary via EMChat, and schedule management after training.
  • For work performed outside of direct student sessions (including company-wide training and manager one-on-ones), pay is $15.00/hour or the minimum wage in your state of residence, whichever is higher.

Engaging Minds is an Equal Opportunity Employer and strongly encourages applications from diverse backgrounds. We celebrate differences and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that reflects the students and communities we serve.
