Position Description

The City of Bothell's Employee and Technology Services Department (HR Division) is seeking a Safety and Claims Coordinator to manage workers' compensation claims, evaluate reports, ensure compliance, and support safety training. This is a part-time position and will be paid at an hourly rate averaging 20 hours per week.
Position/Recruitment Information:
  • Schedule: Mondays - Thursdays (5 hours per day)
  • This role will begin as onsite for up to the first six months, with opportunities to work a hybrid schedule after six months.
  • First round of review will take place: Monday, June 8th

What will you do in this position?
  • Coordinate the City's workers' compensation program, ensuring claims follow L&I guidelines while processing claim documentation, maintaining accurate records, and monitoring and analyzing claim data.
  • Communicate with employees, medical providers, and management regarding claims; coordinate with physicians on light duty offers, work restrictions, and return-to-work capabilities.
  • Analyze claim data, provide recommendations on claims management, coordinate documentation for audits, and process related administrative records and reporting.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees into safety programs, including administrative tracking, data entry, compliance monitoring, and follow-up on expired or incomplete trainings across a variety of safety, risk management, and personnel-related programs and processes.

A successful candidate in this position will:
  • Apply objective reasoning and action, maintaining perspective when evaluating both qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Strengthen internal and external partnerships to enhance collective success.
