Job description

This Position reports to:

Service Manager

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service to satisfy customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.
This role is contributing to the NAM Hoisting Service team as an Intern focusing on Cyber Security, RAP/SRP and Smart Hoist in North American Region.
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Performing entry level field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performs analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.

  • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.

  • Executing work on a first-time right approach with customers, and ensuring the job is done on time and as per quality standards.

  • Troubleshooting simple equipment failures and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.

Requirements

  • You enjoy working with remote tools, network software, and have a strong interest in industrial environments such as the mining sector.

  • You have experience (academic projects, labs, or internships) in networking, cybersecurity, or IT systems, with hands-on exposure to troubleshooting and system analysis.

  • You possess a solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, networking concepts, and remote access technologies (e.g., VPNs, firewalls, remote monitoring tools).

  • You are passionate about working in fast-paced, highly collaborative teams, and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and urgency in completing tasks.

  • You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with coursework or projects related to cybersecurity, embedded systems, or networking.

  • You communicate effectively and are comfortable working in both team environments and digital collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
