Part Time Remote Drafting information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Remote Drafting professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Remote Drafting professional, you need a solid understanding of drafting principles, technical drawing, and relevant industry standards, typically supported by an associate degree or certification in drafting or CAD. Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks, along with experience using cloud-based collaboration tools, is essential. Strong attention to detail, time management, and clear communication skills are crucial for remote teamwork and project accuracy. These skills and qualities ensure precise technical drawings, effective collaboration, and timely project delivery in a remote work environment.

How do part-time remote drafters typically collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure project accuracy?

Part-time remote drafters often use digital communication tools like email, video calls, and project management platforms to coordinate with architects and engineers. They participate in virtual meetings to review design changes, clarify project requirements, and address any technical questions. File-sharing systems and cloud-based CAD software enable real-time updates and feedback on drawings, making collaboration efficient despite the remote nature of the job. Building strong communication habits is key to preventing misunderstandings and ensuring project accuracy.

A part time remote drafting job involves creating technical drawings and plans for buildings, products, or structures using computer-aided design (CAD) software, while working from a location outside of a traditional office and with reduced hours compared to a full-time position. Marketing & Communications Intern

Summer 2026 • Part-Time, Paid • Remote

About NMF

National Medical Fellowships (NMF) is a national nonprofit dedicated to broadening pathways to medical education and building an exceptional healthcare workforce that reflects the communities facing the greatest health challenges. For 80 years, NMF has invested in exceptional scholars of medicine — and in 2026, we are marking that milestone with a landmark anniversary campaign: The Future of Care Starts Now.

The Opportunity

NMF’s Marketing & Communications team is looking for a motivated Marketing & Communications Intern to join us for Summer 2026, with the potential to continue with us through the fall, as we build toward our 80th Anniversary Homecoming Weekend in October.

This role is for someone who thrives at the intersection of storytelling, digital content, and organization — someone who wants real responsibility, not busy work. You will work directly with NMF’s fractional Chief Marketing Officer and contribute to live campaigns, active social channels, and communications infrastructure that will shape NMF’s next chapter.

What You Will Do

Content & Social Media

– Support NMF’s Instagram and LinkedIn pages — monitoring comments, engaging followers, and maintaining a consistent brand voice

– Draft and schedule social content in HeyOrca in alignment with the campaign calendar and content themes

– Flag emerging trends, follower interactions, and engagement opportunities for the broader team

NMF Story Bank

– Support the development of NMF’s Story Bank — a growing library of scholar, alumni, and stakeholder narratives that power communications across channels

– Conduct outreach to scholars and alumni to gather story submissions; coordinate the #MYNMFStory UGC campaign

– Organize, tag, and maintain story assets so they are accessible and ready for use across email, social, and event content

Shared Drive & Operations

– Audit and reorganize the MarCom shared Google Drive — establishing a clear, logical folder structure and consistent labeling conventions

– Build and maintain a simple asset index so the team can locate brand materials, campaign content, and approved copy quickly

– Support file management and version control as new content is produced

General MarCom Support

– Assist with drafting and editing copy for email newsletters, event promotions, and campaign materials

– Support special projects tied to the 80th Anniversary campaign as needs arise

Requirements

Who This Is For

– A current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, with a focus in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field

– Someone with a genuine interest in healthcare, nonprofit work, or social impact

– A strong writer who communicates clearly and adapts tone across platforms

– Organized and self-directed — comfortable managing multiple tasks in a remote environment

– Familiar with Instagram and LinkedIn as professional platforms

– Proficiency in Social Media Tools (IG, Reels), WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite preferred; experience with Canva, Google Workspace, or social scheduling tools is a plus

What You Will Gain

– Practical experience supporting a national nonprofit’s marketing and communications function

– Portfolio-ready work across social media, storytelling, and digital content

– Mentorship from an experienced marketing leader

– Exposure to nonprofit campaign operations and brand management

Compensation & Schedule

This is a part-time (maximum of 25 hours/week), remote position. $3,600 stipend to be provided for the summer (8 weeks). Payable in installments: $1,200 at completion of week 2, $1,200 at completion of week 5, and $1,200 at completion of week 8 and the return of applicable equipment and/or deliverables.

Candidates must have reliable internet access and availability during standard business hours for team meetings and check-ins.
