Virtual Environment Lead
The Opportunity:
Provides technical leadership for virtualized environments in support of an Army command and its mission partners to ensure secure, reliable, and optimized virtualized solutions in support of operations. Plans, modernizes and sustains virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and virtual server environments. Maintains and supports coalition network integration with VDI thin client end users. Manages VDI systems to support increased usage during operations and implements solutions to prevent downtime. Oversees access control management of VDI systems.
You Have:
  • 6+ years of experience in VDI administration and management, including virtual desktops, cross-domain access solutions, and VDI
  • Experience with one or more of the major VDI platforms, such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, such as hypervisors, including VMware ESXi or Hyper-V
  • Experience with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, storage solutions, such as SAN or NAS, and VDI environment security policies
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash, for VDI management
  • Experience with monitoring VDI performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing the environment for a smooth user experience
  • Experience with leading technical teams and cross-functional stakeholders through complex initiatives, and briefing senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders on complex technical issues, translating risk, tradeoffs, and recommendations into clear, actionable guidance
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • VMware Certified Professional - Desktop and Mobility, Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization, Nutanix Certified Professional, or Microsoft Certified - Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
