Based on course content, wages will range from $1,297.00 per credit to $3,753.00 per credit.

In certain instances, due to low enrollment, faculty payment will be based on part-time per credit pay and pro-rated on a 10% per student basis.

Part-time employees also receive some benefits depending on the number of hours worked.

Job Description:

Aims Community College actively supports an environmentthat embraces the College's Mission, Vision, Values and a culture of innovation and care. The College embraces and seeks to hire individuals who want to be a part of this environmentand have the skill sets necessary to be successful in this position.The Early College Academy at Aims Community College is a partnership with Weld County District 6. The Early College High School program gives high school students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma while subsequently earning an Associate of Arts degree. Occasional travel may be required.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain compliance with the requirements of the Early Collegeassignment, including contract days, work-day schedule, and participating in Early College events such as New Student Orientation, Student Registration, In-Service Days and Parent/Teacher Conferences as specifiedin the Early College Faculty contract addendum.

  • Maintain compliance with the provisions of the College's part-time faculty position description including teaching to develop, implement, evaluate and update the purpose, philosophy, objectives and organizational framework of the program.

  • Maintain compliance regarding all faculty responsibilities enumerated in the College Policies and Procedures.

  • Provide effective and high-quality instruction in all levels of course offerings by continually refining and modernizing curriculum so that it remains educationally sound and meets the high standards of the College.

  • Use alternative delivery technology in lecture and laboratory instruction to enhance student learning.

  • Apply learning-centered educational practices such as creating and communicating clearly defined outcomes for student learning.

  • Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Hours: Monday-Friday at Early College Academy. Some evenings for parent/teacher conferences and other school activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in sociology OR Master's degree including 18 graduate level credit hours in sociology or closely related field. Research, publication, or work experience may be substituted for up to three graduate credits. A candidate who is close to the Master's degree and making progress may also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • K-12 teaching experience

  • Experience with concurrent enrollment or dual enrollment programs

  • Experience using technology in the classroom, or teaching online
