About Us:
Offering quality recreation with a commitment to excellence to all members in an exclusive and friendly environment, Boulder Country Club is a private, member-owned, non-profit club recognized as one of the finest full-service facilities in the state.
The club features indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities featuring two lap pools, a separate kids pool, and a hot tub. Year-round aquatics programming includes water aerobics, swim lessons, a competitive swim team, and scheduled private and group classes.
SWIM LESSON INSTRUCTOR
Rate of Pay: 45-60% Commission (depending on experience), plus hourly administrative rate of $16-$18 per hour.
Hours: 5-20 hours per week
Job Description:
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and teaching private, semi-private, and group swim lessons for children six months and older. Most lessons will be private, and semi-private lessons will be scheduled directly with member families.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Always supervises and observes swimmers to ensure their safety in the lesson environment.
  • Teaches skills to help the students' progress at their own rate.
  • Designs and implements appropriate classes for the swimming level being taught.
  • Be prepared and organized by creating daily/weekly lesson plans for group and private classes.
  • Coordinate weekly and monthly schedules with lesson participants.
  • Communicate regularly with participants and their parents, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of progress.
  • Punctual when reporting for duty, shows up no less than 10 minutes prior to the start of a class.
  • Enforce and adhere to all club policies and procedures.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training courses.
  • Maintain a courteous, polite, and helpful relationship with all members and their children.
  • Completing additional duties assigned by direct supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Thorough knowledge and application of teaching swimming and water safety skills.
  • Willingness to teach in the water for hours at a time.
  • Ability to self-motivate with little or no supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Required Certifications & Training
  • American Red Cross CPR / AED for the Professional Rescuer.
  • Within 30 days of hire: State of CO Child Welfare Mandatory Reporting.

Preferred Qualifications
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification.
  • Previous paid experience as a swim instructor.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate or equivalent water safety training.
