Job description

JOB TITILE:            EPA Technician Recycling Program
DEPARTMENT:       Environmental (EPA)
REPORT TO:          EPA Director
SALARY RANGE:  $18.00 / hour 
POSITION TYPE:    Permanent/Part time 29 hours/Non-exempt

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and regulate the disposal of solid waste on the reservation in order to protect the tribal environment, its natural resources, and the health, welfare and economic security of the Tribe
  • Basic knowledge of California recycling program
  • Must understand and use safety precautions
  • This job will require heavy lifting up to 75 pounds
  • Safely use and keep all equipment in working condition
  • Photo document progress
  • Complete daily logs for reporting purposes
  • Must be able to travel
  • Ability to work independently or with limited supervision
  • Have basic knowledge of solid waste characterizations
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • LABOR INTENSIVE โ€“ Must be in good physical condition and willing to work outdoors (winter & summer)
  • Must be able to walk on hillsides and embankments.
  • CPR/First Aid certification recommended.
  • Valid Driversโ€™ License
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Comply with Drug-Free Workplace Policy
  • Work boots required (employee provides)
