Join us at Midtown Community Health Center as our Patient Service Representative, where your dedication to exceptional service helps make every patient's visit a positive one.General Description:The position highly influences the first impression and effectiveness of patient experience while serving as the initial and final point of contact for patients and other visitors. Assists patients with inquires of all types to include scheduling, medication refills, referral information, lab/test results, and other general information regarding MTCH practices. Responsible for completing the registration process, obtaining signatures on release and consent forms, verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information, and collecting fees. Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organizationResponsibilities:Promotes positive customer relations in dealing with patients, visitors and other employeesDemonstrates caring qualities and customer service skills consistent with MTCHC values when engaging with patients, visitors or other employeesAbility to resolve conflict with others quicklyUses two patient identifiers during any patient interactionCorrectly enters and updates patient information on demographic screensUnderstands and correctly uses consent for treatment documentsProperly assigns sliding fee schedule to patientsCollects payments in accordance with MTCHC polices/ able to explain sliding fees and flat chargesCompletes, scans, and labels HIPAA paperwork and other registration documentsIdentifies eligibility for special programs (VFC, UCCP, Head Start, etc.)Enters payment information correctlySchedules appointments in accordance with visit typesPlaces appropriate alert notes in eCWReminds patients of: POI, co-pay, POR, medication lists and shot recordsMakes reminder calls for pre-scheduled appointments regularly and document outcome of call accuratelyEnsures telephone encounters are used correctly and messages are free from spelling errorsVerifies and updates telephone encounter fields, assign messages to correct recipient in a timely mannerMaintains confidentiality and HIPPA policiesPossesses necessary written and verbal communication skills to perform jobPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent. 1-year medical office experience preferred, but not required.Other Skills: Ability to communicate in English and Spanish to meet the mission of Midtown. Relates well with others in a team-based environment, works quickly and accurately under pressure, communicates effectively in both written and oral, and has basic computer skills.
