Job description

Responsibilities:
Accompanies vocal and instrumental students in lessons, studio classes, rehearsals, recital hearings, recitals, and other on-campus performance settings. Serves as a musical coach, reinforcing the instruction of applied music faculty and preparing students for public performance.
Work schedule will fluctuate each week. Most weeks' work schedule will range from 10 - 16 hours, with a total anticipated number of hours during each semester ranging from 160 - 180.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires the following specialized skills and experience:
  • Ability to accompany and coach instrumental and vocal students
  • Ability to quickly learn a large body of music across a variety of styles
  • Ability to sight read at the piano
  • Experience in collaborative music making

Additional Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in piano OR demonstration of equivalent skills.
  • At least 3 years accompanying experience, demonstrating a knowledge and breadth of styles and repertoire for standard instruments and/or voice
  • Reliability is a must!
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and work independently as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; good communication and excellent time management
