What is a part time RBT?

A Part-Time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to individuals, often children, with autism or other developmental disabilities. They work under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior intervention plans. Part-time RBTs typically have flexible schedules, working a set number of hours per week based on client needs. Their responsibilities include data collection, skill-building exercises, and promoting positive behaviors. This role is ideal for those seeking experience in psychology, education, or related fields.

What are the typical responsibilities of a part time RBT during a workweek?

As a Part Time RBT, your typical responsibilities include implementing treatment plans developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), recording and tracking client progress through daily data collection, and assisting with skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs. You may work one-on-one with clients in various settings, such as homes, clinics, or schools, depending on the agency’s structure. Regular supervision and feedback sessions are also part of the role to ensure ongoing professional growth and adherence to best practices. Collaboration with other team members and communicating progress to families are key aspects of your weekly routine, providing both support and a well-rounded work environment.

These competencies ensure you can deliver high-quality behavioral interventions that positively impact clients’ lives and support team objectives.

What other jobs can a part time RBT get?
