TITLE: Yard & Material Coordinator DEPARTMENT: Production REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager

EMPLOYMENT ☐ Temporary ☒ Full-Time ☐ Part-Time FLSA STATUS ☒ Non-Exempt ☐ Exempt


Job Function: To effectively perform the duties of Yard and Material Coordinator in a hands-on efficient manner following company policies and procedures. To ensure that all efforts contribute to the best financial interest of Transpacific Food and the safe/quality production of food products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Yard and Material Coordinator is responsible for organizing raw materials for staging purposes, ensuring raw material containers are reasonably clean prior to movement into a GMP zone, moving raw materials into thawing and staging areas according to a pre-defined schedule, inspecting and sorting used drums/polys for re-use, refabrication or other categories, facilitating the dumping of seeds, maintaining the back lot and thawing areas in a clean, orderly, and organized manner.

Responsibilities include willingness to perform daily tasks and working with personnel from all departments to meet objectives pertaining to SQF, HACCP, GMP, and SOPs for plant efficiency.

Specific

· Ingredient verification for raw materials pulled from storage.

· Inspection of raw materials containers for food safety.

· Cleaning of drums/polys to a set standard prior to being moved to the interior of the building.

· Organizing and re-palletizing raw materials according to batch and group assignments as identified by Production leadership and maintaining batch and group segregation during thawing.

· Labeling re-organized raw materials according to batch and group.

· Responsible for moving scheduled raw materials from the staging area to the production door in coordination with the production supervisor to ensure timely and efficient production flow.Move raw materials from the back lot to the thawing and staging areas according to the production schedule.

· Perform multiple daily checks on tempering raw materials to monitor thawing progress and relocate materials as needed to support production and food safety requirements.

· Maintain traceability documentation for staged raw materials.

· Inspects and sorts used raw materials drums for immediate re-use, re-fabrication, or disposal.

· Facilitates disposal of unsuitable drums and other unusable materials from the back lot

· Facilitates dumpster pickup and weekly schedule with admin

· Facilitates cardboard pickup and weekly schedule with admin

· Responsible for organizing empty drums, lids, and pallets for easy accessibility, admin inventory counts and a clean, organized, and presentable storage area.

· Ability to lift up to 50lbs. continuously and manipulate 400lb. drums when needed.

· Openness to work varied hours and days of the week up to and including swing and grave shifts and weekends.

· Responsible for complete and accurate documentation pertaining to their purview.

· Responsible for reporting all food safety concerns and empowered to do so.

· Cleanliness and organization is a key component to your success, as well as the safety of yourself and others. It is required of each employee to maintain the areas they are responsible for in a clean and organized manner at all times

· Willingness to perform daily tasks as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: The Individual must complete the following training according to QP-291:

1) New Employee Food Safety Training: Once prior to starting work

2) All WCFSTP modules according to the needs analysis: once in the first year of employment

3) Refresher Training: as needed according to QP-291:6.0

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write effective correspondence and communicate.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratios and percentages and interpret miscellaneous drawings and charts.
