Position: Banquet Captain / Event Service Lead
Location: Santa Barbara, Hope Ranch
Schedule: Part-time; evenings, weekends, holidays as needed
Overview:
La Cumbre Country Club is seeking a polished, service-driven Banquet Captain / Event Service Lead to help deliver exceptional weddings, private events, and member functions in a premier Santa Barbara club setting. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading banquet teams, creating memorable guest experiences, and ensuring events run smoothly from setup through final breakdown.
Primary Responsibilities:
Event Leadership
• Lead banquet staff during event setup, service, and breakdown
• Review BEOs and ensure rooms are set accurately and on time
• Serve as the main on-site point of contact during events
• Coordinate timing with culinary and bar teams to keep service running smoothly
• Work closely with the Event & Catering Manager to fully understand the vision, expectations and details of each event.
Staff Supervision
• Direct, lead, and motivate the banquet service team before, during, and after events.
• Assign tasks, monitor service flow, and ensure all staff members maintain a polished, professional appearance.
• Set the tone for service by modeling professionalism, positivity and engagement.
• Help train new banquet team members on service standards and safety.
Member & Guest Experience
• Deliver a warm, professional, and proactive member and guest experience.
• Anticipate guest needs and resolve issues quickly and graciously.
• Maintain high presentation and hospitality standards aligned with La Cumbre's prestige and member expectations.
Operational Accuracy
• Ensure rooms, equipment, linens and rentals are organized and event-ready.
• Confirm event details and service notes are properly documented and executed.
• Assist with post-event reset and report maintenance or safety concerns to management.
Working Conditions:
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift items for extended periods during event preparation and execution.
• Work may be required during weekends, evenings, and holidays based on event schedules.
Salary Description
