Description:
* Warms up and performs QA tests on simulator, CT, BAT and treatment equipment following
established procedures prior to daily use. Reports any deviation to the physicist.
* Uses radiation detection equipment in a safe and careful manner.
* Inspects ancillary devices prior to use. Reports any problems to appropriate person.
* Verifies functioning of the radiation detectors.
* Checks blocks for proper orientation and accuracy before filming.
* Performs weekly QA on simulator and treatment equipment folowing established procedures.
* Assists in maintenance of the dark room. Report any problems to the appropriate person for
corrections.
* Maintains accurate records of all equipment service/function/maintenance etc.
* Performs microdosimetry within the first three treatments. Verifies calculation and
agreement prior to fourth treatment.
* Participates in department performance improvement program.
* Maintains high level of patient care and safety at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Graduation from an AMA accredited school of Radiation Therapy is required.
* Knowledge of principles, techniques and methodology of radiation therapy is required.
* Behavior and personality conducive to working with cancer patients is necessary.
LICENSURE
* Current State of Florida License as a Certified Radiology Technologist (CRT)
* ARRT (T) or eligible
* Current BLS Certification Required
