Job description

Title: Steward Staff - AM
Dept: Food Services
Hours: Full and part time, including weekends Shift range is 6:00am - 6:00pm
Report to: Head Steward
Wage: This position pays $17.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on experience.

The primary responsibility of the Steward Staff is to perform a variety of janitorial duties and maintains cleanliness of assigned areas. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures.

In our daily work, we:

  • Gather all dirty dishware from tubs brought to the dish room, rinse and stack in dish racks, always clear dishes of leftovers and trash in order to prepare for automated washing.
  • Load full dish racks on belt and unload clean dishes from racks after being processed through dish machine.
  • Manually scrub pots and pans and other kitchen equipment that cannot be washed automatically.
  • Returns items not satisfactorily cleaned for a second wash.
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused and provide excellent food products in a high volume environment.
  • Scrubs walls and trashcans.
  • Maintain chemicals and dish washing equipment in good condition and working order.
  • Performs all other job- related duties as requested.
