Building strong relationships with the team and being flexible with your hours can help ensure a smooth workflow and contribute to the overall success of the racing team.

Mechanic Wanted

Part-Time or Full-Time

Pay: $30-$45/hr, depending on experience

Location: Mid-Willamette Valley

A well-equipped private shop in the Mid-Willamette Valley is seeking a clean, self-motivated mechanic for light-duty fleet service and off-road race vehicle prep and drag boat support. This role supports both commercial vehicle maintenance and an active multi-series race program - offering variety and flexible hours in a calm, well-supplied environment, without the pressure of flat-rate billing.

Position: Race Mechanic / Fabricator / Fleet Maintenance

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain Ford E250/E350 vans and F150 pickups (2004-2016)
  • Prep Broncos, Jeeps, UTVs and Race UTVs, for off-road events
  • Support drag boat prep and pit operations (ADBA and CDBA race programs)
  • Perform R and R of motors, drivetrain service, and general mechanical work
  • Route and assemble braided fuel lines, cooling, and basic plumbing systems
  • Assist with light fabrication - grinding, tack welding, fit-up
  • Follow direction on pre-designed mechanical builds
  • Support travel/pit crew operations at select race events

Shop Resources:

  • Heated and cooled private facility
  • Full Snap-On tool suite and fabrication equipment
  • ProDemand diagnostic software
  • NAPA Car Care ProLink system with OEM charge accounts
  • Tasks assigned through Office 365 with clear notes, photos, and deadlines - no guesswork
  • Light recordkeeping only - no billing duties

Requirements:

  • Experienced with automotive, fleet vehicles, off-road, or racing equipment
  • Strong diagnostic skills - able to find and solve problems efficiently
  • Self-motivated and able to manage a task list independently without constant follow-up
  • Computer literate - diagnostic tools, parts software, and task management apps
  • Clean, organized, and comfortable working in a professional shop environment
  • Clean driving record required
  • Open to part-time or full-time
  • Full-time includes health insurance

Benefits:

  • Health insurance (full-time employees),
  • Corporate profit-sharing opportunity,
  • Rece travel expenses covered for event support

Note:

Major engine and transmission rebuilds are outsourced. This role focuses on fleet upkeep, race prep, and project completion - not teardown work.

About the Program:

This is part of a longstanding private operation with a history of race car development, drag boat completion, and commercial fleet reliability. We offer a low-stress, high-quality environment for those who take pride in their own workload.
