Part Time Qa information

What is a part time QA?

Part Time QA (Quality Assurance) jobs involve testing software, products, or processes to ensure they meet certain standards of quality. Unlike full-time QA roles, part-time QA professionals work fewer hours per week, making these positions suitable for students, parents, or those seeking flexible work schedules. Responsibilities typically include executing test cases, reporting bugs, and collaborating with development teams to improve product quality. Part-time QA jobs can be found in various industries, including software development, manufacturing, and customer service.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time QA professional?

To thrive as a Part Time QA professional, you need a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, attention to detail, and preferably a background in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with testing tools like Selenium, JIRA, or TestRail and certifications such as ISTQB are often beneficial. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and time management skills help you collaborate effectively and ensure thorough testing within limited hours. These competencies are crucial to consistently deliver high-quality products and catch defects early, even on a part-time schedule.

How do part time QA professionals typically collaborate with full-time team members to ensure consistent software quality?

Part-time QA professionals often work closely with full-time QA engineers, developers, and product managers by attending regular stand-up meetings, using shared project management tools, and providing timely feedback on test results. Clear communication is essential, as part-timers may work different hours or days, so documentation and handoffs are crucial for maintaining consistency. Most companies ensure that part-time QA staff are looped in on major updates and included in sprint planning to align testing priorities with the rest of the team.

Part Time Qa and Part Time Software Tester roles often overlap in credentials and work environment, especially in tech industries. The main difference lies in scope: QA roles may include broader quality assurance tasks beyond software testing, while software testers focus specifically on testing software products. Both roles are suitable for those seeking flexible, part-time opportunities in quality assurance and software development fields.

About the Role
Registered Nurse (RN) - Personal Care & Respite Care
Godaelli Home Health | Northern Virginia | Part-Time, 1099 Independent Contractor
Godaelli Home Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Personal Care and Respite Care services. This part-time role is ideal for an RN who is passionate about patient advocacy, care coordination, compliance, and quality oversight.
The RN will serve as a key clinical leader for our home health services by completing assessments, developing and updating care plans, supervising personal care aides, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting both Agency-Directed and Consumer-Directed care models.
This position focuses primarily on assessment, care planning, service facilitation, supervision, documentation, compliance, and quality assurance rather than traditional hands-on skilled nursing.
Key Responsibilities
Client Assessments
  • Conduct initial and ongoing in-home assessments for individuals receiving Personal Care and Respite Care services.
  • Evaluate client needs, safety, functional abilities, and support requirements, including Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living.
  • Complete required assessment tools and documentation in accordance with Virginia Medicaid and agency standards.
Care Planning
  • Develop, review, and update individualized Plans of Care based on each client's physical, emotional, social, and functional needs.
  • Ensure services are appropriate, person-centered, and aligned with authorization requirements.
  • Communicate care needs clearly with clients, families, caregivers, attendants, and agency staff.
RN Supervision
  • Provide required supervisory visits for Personal Care Aides and Respite Care staff.
  • Ensure that in-home aides follow the Plan of Care accurately and provide safe, respectful, high-quality care.
  • Identify concerns, provide guidance, and report any changes in the client's condition or service needs.
Service Facilitation
  • Support Consumer-Directed clients and Employers of Record with education, documentation, and service coordination.
  • Provide guidance on hiring, training, supervising, and managing attendants when applicable.
  • Help ensure clients and families understand program expectations and responsibilities.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Complete required Medicaid, DMAS, waiver, and agency documentation accurately and on time.
  • Assist with service authorizations, reassessments, supervisory documentation, and ongoing compliance requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA, agency policies, and applicable state regulations.
Quality Assurance
  • Support quality improvement efforts, chart reviews, incident follow-up, and compliance monitoring.
  • Help ensure Godaelli Home Health meets high standards for patient safety, care quality, and regulatory readiness.
  • Collaborate with leadership on policies, audits, staff education, and clinical operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Virginia or compact RN license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical RN experience.
  • Experience with home care, personal care, respite care, Medicaid waiver services, or service facilitation preferred.
  • Knowledge of Virginia Medicaid waiver programs, DMAS documentation, UAI assessments, Agency-Directed care, and Consumer-Directed care preferred.
  • Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple client visits.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • Must be professional, dependable, compassionate, and detail oriented.
Preferred Experience
  • Personal Care and Respite Care supervision.
  • Virginia Medicaid waiver programs, including CCC Plus and DD Waiver services.
  • Service Facilitation.
  • Home health or community-based care.
  • Quality assurance, compliance, or QAPI activities.
  • Staff training and caregiver education.
What We Offer
  • Competitive part-time compensation.
  • Flexible scheduling.
  • Mileage reimbursement for approved field visits.
  • Supportive leadership and team environment.
  • Opportunity to help build and strengthen a growing home health program.
  • Meaningful work serving individuals and families in the community.
