Position Summary
Full-time positions at Clovis Community College are not remote positions and require a physical presence on campus to fulfill duties and college-related responsibilities.
THIS IS A PART-TIME CONTRACT POSITION AND CONTINGENT UPON GRANT FUNDING.
The Institutional Research Assistant will support the Digital Holistic Student Support project and the college's Student Success initiatives by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data that informs institutional reporting and operational decision making. The IR Assistant will assist the director and analyst with developing dashboards, statistical reports, and data visualizations to support key performance indicators related to student retention, persistence, academic progress, and equity-focused analytics.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize Student Success-related data to support the creation of dashboards, institutional reporting tools, and grant-required analytics.
  • Assist with preparing regular and ad hoc statistical and narrative reports that inform academic advising, enrollment management, institutional effectiveness, and grant accountability.
  • Assist with building, updating, and maintaining dashboards focused on retention metrics, credit momentum, gateway course success, equity gaps, and other indicators of student progress.
  • Use statistical and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, R, Python) to present insights in clear, accessible formats for leadership and campus partners.
  • Maintain documentation related to data methods, data dictionaries, analytic procedures, and dashboard specifications.
  • Assist IR director and analyst with designing and preparing training or documentation for campus users who interact with dashboards or analytic tools.
  • Support data integrity, workflow improvement, and enhancements to institutional reporting structures.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related tasks as needed to fulfill grant requirements and support Student Success priorities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Strong communication and analytical skills; familiarity with database use and management; ability to use Microsoft office suite; familiarity with data visualization tools preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires frequent standing, sitting, walking and continuous movement within the College and off-site locations. Requires frequent pushing and pulling of up to 10 lbs. Continuous handling of paper and paper materials required.
SCHEDULE DETAILS:
Must be available to up to 20 hours per week during normal operating hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent credits in related field required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 years of experience in a related field preferred
