Job description

TPG is currently seeking Part-Time Test Drivers in the Greenville area to safely operate vehicles on public roads and conduct tire wear testing. This role is ideal for those:
  • Looking for part-time work with flexible scheduling requirements
  • Enjoy driving different models of cars, SUVs, vans, and trucks on public roads in the city, highway, and rural regions surrounding Greenville
  • Ideal for retirees wanting to get out of the house and earn supplemental income as well as those with irregular schedules or available free time
  • Driving enthusiasts with a safe driving history and a clean driving record

As a Part-Time Test Driver, you will drive new and used vehicles through predetermined routes on public roads in multi-vehicle convoys. Safety is a top priority, and we require all drivers to have an excellent driving record and at least 5 years of driving experience. Attention to detail is important, as responsibilities include following detailed instructions for vehicle preparation, operation, and documentation of weather conditions, accidents, or other variables that may impact tire testing results.
While there is currently a high demand for test drivers, hours and needs may vary. Therefore, this role is best suited for those looking for part-time additional income rather than primary full-time work. During busy times there may be availability for up to 40 hours as well as weekend work. However, the typical schedule includes Monday through Friday with two 8-hour shifts:
  • 1st Shift: 4:00 am to 12:00 pm
  • 2nd Shift: 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Other important requirements and considerations include:
  • Minimum of 5 years of driving experience with excellent driving record for past 5 years
  • Able to safely drive in heavy traffic and adverse weather conditions including rain and snow.
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to activity be drug free. Alcohol consumption is not permitted within 8 hours of any shift.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Able to sit for prolonged periods routinely exceeding two or more hours
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
