Position: PART-TIME - Home Staging Warehouse/Accessories Library Assistant  (Ulster or Dutchess County).
HUDSON VALLEY HEADQUARTERED (HIGHLAND, NY) - Award-winning NYC-based interior design firm owned by Celebrity Interior Designer Cathy Hobbs, an Emmy Award Winning Television Host and Finalist on Season 6 of HGTV Design Star, is looking for the ideal talent to join our design team for our opening for a PART -TIME Home Staging Warehouse/Accessories Library Assistant to add to our existing team at our brand new state-of-the-art Home Staging and Design Center based in Highland, New York.
To provide further clarity, we are an interior design firm, exclusively specializing in real estate staging and styling in addition to short-term rental and vacation home design. We do not do traditional interior design at all. As such the best fit for our team are people who understand and appreciate visual merchandising as we currently exclusively stage and style vacant luxury real estate in Manhattan and immediate surrounding areas in addition to The Hudson Valley.
The IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST be able to hit the ground running, assisting with the existing team the ongoing maintenance of our home staging warehouse/accessories library including the ongoing support of the Manhattan and Hudson Valley design team. The ideal candidate will also be on site for staging jobs in The Hudson Valley.

THE POSITION:
A Hudson Valley-based member of our design team who be solely responsible for our accessories/warehouse library including its maintenance and overall upkeep. The position requires a self-starter who already has an extensive background and knowledge of visual merchandising and props. The ideal candidate has previous experience with home staging and prop styling. We are looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas as it relates to our inventory of furniture and accessories. From time to time, you will shop for inventory as needed at local stores and will assist with procurement from our extensive list of wholesale vendors. In addition, you may be asked to travel with the team to Manhattan to assist on staging jobs.
Design Center Duties:
Working with our Hudson Valley clients relating to home staging, short-term rental, and vacation home design needs:
  • Stage Hudson Valley projects.
  • Organizing accessories for the Design Center/putting away (shelving) accessories from staging jobs in a prompt manner.
  • Kitting (placing accessories in groupings in bins) and bagging of accessories and bedding.
  • Washing and folding of linens.
  • Printing of artwork and basic framing.
  • Shopping as needed for accessories and home decor items at local stores.
  • Assisting Manhattan design teams with accessories as needed.
  • Overall impeccable organization and tidiness of our new state-of-the-art warehouse/showroom.
  • Marketing and outreach.
  • General administration tasks as needed.

WHO YOU ARE:
You are a smart, energetic, self-starter with excellent communication skills and an established professional and personal connection to the Hudson Valley. You have a strong interest in real estate and interior design and savvy both with social media but also computer skills. You keep up on the latest trends in the world of interior design and home staging. You are not shy when it comes to physical work, as home staging is very physical and requires long hours.
Job Details:
  • This (PART-TIME) position blends the worlds of professional organizing, home staging, and interior design.
  • Work location will be our brand new HUDSON VALLEY HEADQUARTERS/WAREHOUSE/DESIGN CENTER located on 4 acres surrounded by orchards in bucolic New Paltz.
  • Home staging locations in The Hudson Valley, Westchester, and The Berkshires.

Ideal candidates:
  • Visual merchandising experience specifically in the home decor (NOT FASHION) field is a PLUS (but not required).
  • AAS or BFA in Interior Design (strongly preferred).
  • Impeccable organization skills.
  • Interest in home staging and interior design (a PLUS but not required).
  • Basic ability to assemble furniture.
  • Basic visual merchandising, styling, and or prop styling skills.

MUST BE HUDSON VALLEY BASED (Ulster or Dutchess County) or live within 15-45 minutes of HIGHLAND, NEW YORK.
