What is part time project management?

Part time project management involves overseeing and coordinating projects while working fewer hours than a standard full-time schedule. Part time project managers are responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring projects, but typically manage a smaller workload or number of projects. This role is ideal for organizations with limited project needs or professionals seeking work-life balance. Part time project managers use the same tools and methodologies as their full-time counterparts, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Flexibility and strong communication skills are key to success in this position.

How do part-time project managers balance multiple projects and communicate effectively with full-time team members?

Part-time project managers often juggle several projects simultaneously, requiring strong organizational skills and proactive communication. They typically rely on clear scheduling, regular status updates, and digital collaboration tools to stay aligned with full-time team members and stakeholders. Establishing set check-in times and leveraging project management software helps ensure everyone stays informed and progress remains on track. Open communication and setting expectations early are key strategies for success in a part-time project management role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time project manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Project Manager, you need strong organizational, leadership, and time management skills, often supported by a background in business or project management and experience leading teams. Familiarity with project management software like Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Project, and certifications such as PMP or CAPM, are commonly valued. Excellent communication, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities help you effectively coordinate tasks and stakeholders within limited hours. These skills ensure that projects stay on track and objectives are met efficiently, even within a part-time schedule.

Job description

Peninsula Cleaning Service, Inc. (PCSI) of Newport News, VA is looking to hire dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented Project Workers to join our team on a part-time basis throughout the Hampton Roads area. Are you an energetic, get-it-done person? Do you enjoy hands-on work and a variety of assignments rather than doing the same thing every day? Are you looking for flexible part-time hours to earn some additional money on weekends? If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, apply today!

Starting pay for this position is $15-$21/hour.

ABOUT PENINSULA CLEANING SERVICE, INC.

Our independently owned commercial cleaning company has been in business for over 30 years. We clean floors, carpets, windows, surfaces, and restrooms for commercial businesses throughout Newport News, Hampton, and the surrounding cities. We bring passion and dedication to every project. Whether it's construction cleaning, deep cleaning, floor care, or detail work, we are up to date with all techniques and regulations. We believe in the power of monitoring our services to guarantee they are high-quality and consistent every time. We are proud to help keep our community clean, safe, and healthy!

Our management style is team-based. We understand that our employees strive to set personal goals, seek ongoing growth, and explore new opportunities. We care about the well-being of our employees and want them to succeed. Within our company, you will have the room to continue growing in your career. We value our team and offer competitive pay and a positive, supportive work environment.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT WORKER

As a Project Worker, no two days look exactly alike. You might be assisting with a special cleaning project, tackling construction cleanup, doing detail cleaning, working on floor care, or handling other assigned tasks. You enjoy staying active and hands-on, moving from one task to the next, and taking pride in seeing a space transformed by the end of the job. If you like variety and want to avoid a repetitive routine, this role gives you exactly that.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PROJECT WORKER

- Dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable with hands-on, physical work and a variety of assignments
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Ability to pass a background check

Are you self-motivated and eager to do a good job? Do you have a positive, can-do attitude? Are you the kind of person who prefers to be on your feet and moving around rather than sitting at a desk? If so, then you might just be perfect for this position!

PART-TIME WORK SCHEDULE

This part-time position offers flexible hours with weekend opportunities available.

READY TO JOIN OUR TEAM?

If you feel that you would be right for this part-time Project Worker position, apply today at www.peninsulacleaning.com or call (757) 833-1603. We look forward to meeting you!
