Job Summary:
As a Project Engineer at SteelFab, you'll dive right into the fast-paced world of construction. In this full-time role, you'll work with our Pre-Construction and Project Management teams on a variety of projects. You'll get hands-on experience, build your skills, and make an impact by taking on tasks like:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaboration: Engage with the Estimating department to gather subcontractor pricing for new project estimates.
  • Scope Analysis: Review and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Material and Labor Take-Offs: Utilize company software to perform detailed material and labor take-offs.
  • Pricing Reviews: Prepare pricing recaps for senior leadership.
  • Client Engagement: Follow up on submitted bids and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Client Communication: Issue Requests for Information (RFIs) to clients, ensuring all project details are clear and accurate.
  • Schedule Management: Maintain and update shipping and project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Purchase Orders & Subcontracts: Write and issue purchase orders and subcontracts to vendors.
  • Change Order Requests: Prepare and issue pricing for change order requests.
  • Site Visits: Visit job sites to build relationships with clients and vendors
  • Design Review: Analyze design drawing revisions to identify and address scope changes to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Construction Coordination: Assist in coordinating construction drawings, modeling, and submittal reviews.
  • Field Issue Resolution: Work with onsite subcontractors to identify and resolve field issues.
  • Fabrication Shop Experience: Gain hands-on experience with the fabrication flow and production processes, deepening your understanding of the entire construction lifecycle.
