Your Opportunity
We are looking for a Water Distribution Engineer to support a variety of municipal drinking water distribution projects in Minnesota and the upper Midwest. You will be client facing and will lead and support projects related to drinking water distribution systems including planning and design of drinking water supply, distribution, and storage infrastructure. This includes wells/wellhouses, pipelines, booster pumps, meter stations, elevated water towers, and ground storage tanks. You will have the opportunity to engage in work that that spans local, regional, and national geographies. Being part of the Water team, you will work with Stantec's industry leading Water professionals which includes over 4,000 Water staff in North America.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management and Delivery
  • Identify appropriate resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Project management tasks such as managing contract terms, tracking and managing costs and schedule, and implementing measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Technical delivery of work including writing memos/reports and preparing other deliverables such as plans/specifications and other engineering documents.
  • Support and lead construction administration efforts including site visits, submittal reviews, and other routine construction administration services.
  • Lead multi-discipline project teams to successfully execute projects.
  • Business Development
  • Understand client needs, communicate project status, lead client presentations.
  • Lead efforts for proposal preparation and business development.
  • Opportunities to attend conferences and lead technical presentations.
  • Administrative
  • Serve as a mentor and provide guidance to a team of professionals.
  • Assist with identification/recruitment of other top talent to continue to grow the Stantec team.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Proven project management and technical skills applicable to drinking water infrastructure projects.
  • Experienced in organizing, planning, and executing multi-discipline design projects from pursuit through closeout.
  • Ability to make sound defensible business decisions, and identify, assess, evaluate, and solve complex problems.
  • Experience with a variety of process system designs related to drinking water infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or construction management related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years' relevant professional experience, with at least 5 years of project management experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Minnesota is required, or ability to obtain PE license within 6 months.

Pay Range:
• Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 128,600.00 - Max Salary $ 192,900.00
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
