PRINT PRODUCTION ARTIST - LARGE FORMAT

Prepress | Adobe Illustrator | Production
Part-time 20 hrs a week, Temp-to-Hire, Onsite
Las Vegas, NV
$20/hr - $22/hr

A busy, successful large-format and sign firm is looking for a dynamic PART-TIME Print Production Artist to join their onsite team! This team delivers high-quality signs, vehicle wraps and large-format solutions.

This is a print production-focused role for someone who knows how to take existing creative, artwork and client files and get them ready for output. You'll be resizing, reformatting, adapting and preparing artwork for large-format and digital printing across signage, vehicle graphics, displays, wayfinding and other environmental applications.

This is not a concept-heavy graphic design position. While you'll need a good design eye and an understanding of typography, color, layout and branding, the priority here is accuracy, file preparation, prepress and print production.

If you're fast and highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, understand how artwork translates from screen to large-format output, and know your way around a print production environment, we'd love to connect.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare, resize, reformat and adapt existing artwork for large-format output
  • Build clean, accurate, production-ready files in Adobe Illustrator
  • Set up files for signage, vehicle graphics and wraps, trade show displays, wayfinding, ADA signage and other large-format applications
  • Review incoming artwork and identify potential production or output issues
  • Prepare prepress files including bleeds, scale, resolution, cut paths and other production specifications
  • Make production adjustments to typography, color, layout and supplied artwork as needed
  • Work with files intended for vinyl, fabric, mesh, rigid substrates and other large-format materials
  • Ensure artwork is properly prepared for the equipment, substrate and finished application
  • Perform quality control before files move into production
  • Troubleshoot artwork, prepress, understanding of bleeds, resolution and output issues
  • Manage multiple jobs and deadlines in a fast-moving production environment
  • Communicate with internal teams and clients when specifications or supplied files need clarification

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in print production, prepress, large-format printing, signage or digital print
  • Strong hands-on skills in Adobe Illustrator
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign
  • Excellent understanding of production file setup and print-ready artwork
  • Knowledge of bleeds, scale, resolution, color management, file preparation and output requirements
  • Understanding of typography, layout, color and brand consistency
  • Strong attention to detail and precise measurement
  • Experience working with or alongside large-format printers and production equipment
  • Familiarity with RIP software such as Onyx, Wasatch or Fiery is a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot files and catch problems before they reach the printer
  • Comfortable working quickly and accurately across multiple production jobs

The Right Fit

You may have a graphic design background, but you're equally interested in the technical and production side of creative work. You enjoy production, taking artwork and making sure it's accurate, properly formatted and ready to produce. You understand that a beautiful file isn't enough - it has to print correctly.

If your experience includes large-format production, signage, prepress, print production or production art, we'd like to hear from you.

This is a part-time, temp-to-hire, onsite opportunity working approximately 20 hrs a week in Las Vegas, NV. REMOTE work is not available.

Pay rate is firm at $20 - $22 per hour. To apply, please submit your resume and portfolio link/case studies with large-format and sign projects.

We receive a high volume of applications, so we're unable to respond individually. If your qualifications align, we'll reach out by phone, email, or text. Message and data rates may apply.
