Job Title: Control RoomProduction Crew (Blackhawks Ice Center)
Department: Events & Experiences
Reports To: Manager, Scoreboard Operations (Blackhawks Ice Center)
Location: Blackhawks Ice Center (in-person), 101 W. Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60612
Hours: Varied. Ability to work unconventional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as the required by the events schedule is required.
Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Compensation: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

The Chicago Blackhawks are seeking skilled, reliable part-time production staff to support Chicago Steel hockey games and private events at the Blackhawks Ice Center. This role is part of the Events & Experiences team, and we are looking for individuals who are eager to gain hands on experience, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are excited to play a major role in delivering legendary fan experiences for the Chicago Steel & Blackhawks Ice Center.
Team members will be responsible for the set-up and execution of assigned positions, including but not limited to camera operation, Dreamcatcher replay technician, robocam / shader, Xpression operator, 7Point operator music playback. Candidates should have prior training, education, or hands-on experience in at least one of these technical areas. While this role provides an opportunity to expand skills and gain additional experience in sports production, team members must bring a foundational level of technical capability that allows them to successfully perform their assigned position during live events.
Primary Responsibilities :
  • Assist with the set-up of Chicago Steel scoreboard shows including home games, watch parties, community, and brand events.
  • Participate in pregame walk-through rehearsals prior to doors opening.
  • Prepare, test, and validate content and production elements prior to puck drop.
  • Execute assigned in-game production elements, including TV timeouts, intermissions, player packages, statistical displays, etc.
  • Collaborate with control-room staff and game presentation teams to ensure seamless execution of all events; troubleshooting technical issues with professionalism.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in at least one live production function, such as camera operation, replay, graphics, robocam/camera shading, audio/music playback, etc.
  • Previous hands-on experience in live sports, broadcast, or event production strongly preferred.
  • Ability to learn new production systems and expand technical capabilities across multiple positions.
  • Ability to accurately execute technical cues and direction in a live, fast-paced production environment.
  • High attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to production quality.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with control-room and game-presentation personnel.
  • Ability to address, troubleshoot, adapt to, and overcome challenges quickly and calmly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work unconventional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as the required by the events schedule.
