Job description

Description
Duties Include:
  1. Customer Greeting: Quick service provided to all customers.
    1. Ensure all customers entering your store or fuel island are greeted sincerely and properly.
  2. Customer Service: Above average customer service at all points of contact during the customers visit.
  3. Accuracy and Judgement: Demonstrate attention to detail in all areas of responsibility.
    1. Cashiers- with cleanliness, stocking product, all methods of customer payment, etc.
    2. Full-serve attendants- with vehicle fueling, oil checking procedures, washing windows, all methods of payment collection, etc.
    3. The customer payment process is done quickly, but also accurately, regardless of position.
  4. Customer Farewell: After a quick and efficient transaction.
    1. The customer farewell is done with a smile and a sincere 'Thank You".
    2. This is always done in an upbeat manner, regardless of your mood or the customer's disposition.
  5. Appearance: Maintain a clean and professional location. We accomplish this through daily cleaning projects. This includes maintaining the coffee area at all times, ensuring it is sanitary and properly stocked.
  6. Job Knowledge: At the end of the training period, having a thorough working knowledge of all gas island and store procedures.
    1. Demonstrate a knowledge of product location and prices.
    2. (Cashier only) Having a thorough working knowledge of the Cashier equipment. This includes the cash register, credit card terminals and the lottery machines.
  7. Teamwork: Work with others as a team
    1. Demonstrate an out-going personality with a positive attitude.
    2. Assist co-workers, which will include helping new hires learn their duties.

Responsibilities Include:
  1. A good working knowledge of all store policies and procedures.
  2. The general appearance of your work area and the store as a whole.
  3. Adhering to the dress code at all times (clean uniforms, neat appearance, proper hygiene, etc.).
  4. Developing good communications and team work skills.
  5. Staying current with changes in products and prices.
  6. The security of all money on the property left in your charge.
  7. Upholding State & Federal laws concerning the sale of alcohol & tobacco products.
    1. This includes refusing the sale of alcohol and tobacco products when necessary according to State and Federal laws.

Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • All associates will be expected to wear appropriate clothing and present a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
  • During colder months, you may be required to dress in a manner that allows you to withstand long periods of time outdoors.
  • The job requires that you remain on your feet throughout your shift, with a lot of movement between the counter, sales area & fuel islands. The job requires that you properly stock the cooler with some heavy lifting required (cases of beer, soda, etc.). Note: The cooler temperature is between 34 to 36 degrees.
  • There are no designated or formal rest periods. Associates are given time to eat and rest, as business dictates and are paid for that time. During unusually busy days, periods of rest are sporadic and limited.
  • Associates must be flexible about the hours and days they are asked to work. They must be willing to stay longer when requested and fill in for others when needed.
  • Associates must be capable of working under stress and pressure especially during rush hours.
  • Associates will be required to keep themselves busy during slow periods with cleaning projects. Such projects include, but are not limited to cleaning fuel pumps, sweeping, painting, shoveling snow, stocking merchandise, washing windows, cleaning restrooms, cleaning shelving etc.
