Job Summary

The Yoga Instructor leads safe, engaging, and effective yoga classes for members and guests of the club. This position is responsible for creating a positive and inclusive environment, providing clear instruction, and helping participants improve their strength, flexibility, balance, and overall well-being while adhering to all club policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead scheduled yoga classes that begin and end on time, incorporating appropriate warm-up, practice, relaxation, and cool-down components.
  • Provide clear verbal and visual instruction to participants of varying experience levels, demonstrating proper alignment, breathing techniques, and modifications as needed.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment that encourages participation and personal growth.
  • Monitor participants during class and offer individualized guidance to promote proper technique and reduce the risk of injury.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary equipment and instructional materials before and after classes.
  • Respond to member questions and provide a positive, professional experience for all participants.
  • Communicate member feedback, facility concerns, and program needs to management.
  • Ensure all safety standards, club policies, and departmental procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe studio environment.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Certification from a recognized yoga teacher training program (200-hour certification minimum preferred).
  • Additional certifications in specialty formats (Restorative, Yin, Vinyasa, Hatha, Chair Yoga, Prenatal, etc.) are a plus.
  • Previous experience teaching yoga classes in a fitness center, yoga studio, health club, private club, or similar setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, movement principles, and injury prevention.

  • Ability to design and deliver safe, effective, and engaging yoga classes for participants of varying skill levels.
