Overview

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Seasonal - Part Time: 32-40 Hours Per Week

Summary:

The Yard Worker – Block Production is responsible for assisting with the overall upkeep of the block yard.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Strip and assemble large bin block metal forms (sometimes multiple times) daily
• Able to lift 50-100 lb. block forms manually at times
• Able to use forklift or occasional front-end loader


Housekeeping:
• Maintain block area to be clean and presentable at all times (free of hardened or loose concrete etc.)
• Able to make small deliveries of block to customers, if needed
• Taking physical inventory of blocks on a weekly basis
• Other misc. duties directed by manager


Employee Relations:
• Treat Customers, Haulers, and coworkers in a friendly and courteous manner


Global Responsibilities:
• Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position
• This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs

Qualifications:

Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Driver's License

Experience:

• Experience with general or routine maintenance tasks

Skills/Abilities:

• Demonstrated ability to follow instruction and work independently
• Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to read, write and distinguish colors

• Able to take and follow instructions and think outside the box for special orders

Working Conditions:

• All work performed outside
• Exposure to elements of weather including heat, cold, rain and dust
• Occasionally/frequently exposed to rough, muddy, walking surface
• Intermittent exposure to high noise levels
• Frequent exposure to cement, lime, concrete, admixtures, dust, diesel fuel and other substances that may cause burns, be toxic or explosive if handled incorrectly
• Frequent exposure to water and wet conditions
• Occasional longer hours, when needed

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional bending, stooping, and kneeling
• Occasional need to stretch, reach and grab
• Occasional periods of walking across uneven surfaces
