Job description

Sr. Electrical Commissioning Specialist
Position Overview
Premier Resources Group (PRG) is seeking experienced electrical and power professionals for flexible, project-based commissioning assignments throughout the United States.
Initial assignments are expected to involve short-duration outages and commissioning events, typically lasting 1-2 days, supporting EV charging infrastructure and onsite power-generation systems serving data centers. Longer-term and full-time opportunities may become available as the program expands, but for now the commitment is part-time.
This opportunity may be especially attractive to experienced professionals seeking an alternative to traditional full-time employment, including independent consultants, semi-retired professionals, or individuals interested in completing select assignments throughout the year while maintaining greater control over their schedules.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support electrical commissioning and outage activities.
  • Observe, inspect, and verify electrical installation and contractor work.
  • Assist with testing, startup, troubleshooting, and system turnover.
  • Identify deficiencies, quality concerns, and incomplete work.
  • Document findings and communicate clearly with project stakeholders.
  • Represent the owner's interests during commissioning activities, as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electrical power systems in industrial or heavy-commercial environments.
  • Prior commissioning, startup, testing, maintenance, or outage experience.
  • Background in power generation, data centers, refineries, manufacturing, hospitals, or other large-scale facilities.
  • Experience as an electrical engineer, electrician, electrical superintendent, I&E technician, NETA technician, commissioning specialist, or similar professional.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound field judgment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel by air for assignments.
  • Data Center experience is a plus

Work Structure
  • Project-based and intermittent assignments (with travel)
  • Initial engagements will generally be short-duration commissioning or outage events.
  • Candidates may be engaged as employees or independent contractors, depending on the assignment.
  • Travel expenses and compensation will be discussed based on experience and project requirements.
