What does a part time pool cleaner do?

A part time pool cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of swimming pools. Their duties typically include skimming debris from the surface, vacuuming the pool floor, brushing pool walls, checking and adjusting chemical levels, and ensuring that filtration systems are functioning properly. Part time pool cleaners usually work flexible hours, often servicing residential or commercial pools on a recurring schedule. This role is ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors and have attention to detail. Proper training in pool maintenance and chemical handling is often required.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time pool cleaner?

To thrive as a Part Time Pool Cleaner, you need basic knowledge of pool chemistry, cleaning techniques, and often a valid driver's license. Job description

Job Title: House Manager & Family Assistant
Location: Burleson, TX 76028
Employment Type: Part-time, 20-25 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed)
Schedule: 5 days per week, approximately 4 hours per day. Tuesday shifts begin at 9:00 AM; afternoon shifts preferred on all other days. Some flexibility available for dog care coverage during occasional family travel.
Compensation: $32-$38 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Requirements
  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Reliable personal transportation required; mileage reimbursement provided for work-related errands.
  • Genuine love of dogs and experience working around them is required; a calm, patient demeanor around animals is non-negotiable.

About Our Family
We're a busy, warm household with two working parents and two college-aged sons-one who lives with us full-time and one who comes and goes throughout the year. We run a few mission-driven organizations and often work long days, so when we walk through the door, we really value a home that feels like a calm, clean, and organized retreat.
We also share our home with three medium-sized dogs who are deeply loved and a big part of our everyday life. They can be a bit anxious, so a steady, gentle presence makes a huge difference for them. We breed occasionally, so comfort with dogs in different life stages is a plus.
We've managed large teams professionally and truly appreciate great, independent work. We're not looking for someone who needs step-by-step direction-rather, someone who takes ownership, communicates proactively, and feels confident making thoughtful decisions day to day.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You are calm, confident, and capable - someone who can walk into a home, assess what needs to be done, and do it without waiting to be told. You make good judgment calls (if the usual item is out of stock at the store, you figure it out). You communicate proactively and appreciate quick, asynchronous updates. You don't let questions linger - you ask early and often so small issues don't become bigger ones.
Most importantly, you genuinely love dogs. You understand animal behavior, stay composed around anxious pets, and bring the kind of steady energy that helps our three dogs feel settled. Experience working and/or living in homes with pets is strongly preferred.
You take pride in creating organized, functional spaces and find real satisfaction in keeping a household running smoothly - even when no one is watching.
Key Responsibilities
Pet Care
  • Provide at least one walk per day, preferably in the afternoon, to help the dogs stay calm and well-exercised
  • Feed dogs and manage daily pet routines
  • Bathe all three dogs every two weeks (currently a 3-4 hour process)
  • Coordinate in-home grooming appointments every 8 weeks
  • Maintain pet supply inventory
  • On Tuesdays, remain with one dog on-site during house cleaner visits starting at 9:00 AM

Household Organization & Maintenance
  • Create and maintain household organization systems throughout the home
  • Perform daily resets - dishes, surfaces, high-traffic area tidying - and prep the home for weekly cleaners
  • Manage ongoing organizational projects, including a mudroom purge and reorganization
  • Handle light home maintenance tasks: replacing batteries, light bulbs, smoke detector checks, air filters, and similar upkeep
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs as items accumulate
  • Support event, holiday, and guest prep (approximately every two months)
  • Assist with packing and unpacking around family travel
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of appliances, baseboards, and specialty areas as needed

Vendor & Property Oversight
  • Research, vet, and coordinate vendors for home repairs and maintenance; act as on-site contact for vendor appointments as needed
  • Oversee and communicate with existing service providers (house cleaners, pool cleaner, lawn service)
  • Manage seasonal property maintenance, including coordinating spring power washing and window cleaning before pool season
  • Refresh and maintain outdoor spaces - patio, cushions, and pool area - on a weekly basis and after weather events

Inventory & Errands
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies; maintain running supply lists
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions across Amazon, Costco, Target, and similar accounts
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, and other household errands
  • Retrieve mail from the community mailbox; unbox and put away Amazon deliveries; break down cardboard

Meal Support
  • Handle in-person grocery shopping weekly (flexibility on delivery as needed)
  • Assemble and portion meals from the family's meal delivery service into containers for lunches
  • Prep healthy snacks and meals - chopping vegetables, fruits, and similar light prep
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen

Laundry & Linens
  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize laundry for the household on a regular schedule
  • Manage linen laundry
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked

Vehicle Upkeep
  • Schedule routine maintenance for family vehicles
  • Coordinate periodic interior cleaning and quarterly detail for family vehicles

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support
  • Scan and file paperwork to prevent accumulation of paper piles
  • Maintain awareness of family calendar for scheduling purposes
  • Track receipts and household expenses; manage purchases using family account access and designated card
