Job description

Pool Filter Cleaning Technician
Leander, TX | $40 per completed filter job | Part-Time W-2 Position

Highly flexible schedule. Steady, consistent workload.ย

This job was written for a specific kind of person:

  • You actually enjoy the satisfaction of a before and after job.
  • You notice hairline cracks other people miss.
  • You don't need a manager standing over your shoulder telling you how to turn a wrench.
  • You treat other people's $2,000 equipment like it's your own.
  • You show up when you say you will. No excuses.
  • Half-done isn't done.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
The Schedule & Flexibility

This is a part-time role designed to fit around your life. You knock out the jobs, log the hours and work, and go home. We have a steady stream of filters that need cleaning, and we let you build the schedule that works for you.
Choose your style:
  • The Daily Grind: 2โ€“3 filters per day, 5 days a week.
  • The Knockout: 5โ€“6 filters per day, 2โ€“3 days a week.
What This Job Actually Looks Like
You'll travel to residential properties across Leander and the surrounding area specifically to handle filter tear-downs. This isn't basic skimmingโ€”this is precision maintenance.
At each stop, you do a complete service: safely depressurize the system, open the tank, pull the cartridge or DE grids, wash them thoroughly, inspect every inch for damage, lube the O-rings, reassemble the housing perfectly, and fire the system back up to check for leaks.
Youโ€™ll use your smartphone to log before-and-after photos and details of the job in the Skimmer app so the office and the customer can see the work was done right. Then you move on to the next one.
You Might Be a Good Fit If:
  • Your background is in transformation-based trades โ€” youโ€™ve successfully worked in pressure washing, auto detailing, window washing, commercial cleaning, or landscaping/irrigation. You are the kind of person who gets genuine satisfaction out of taking something filthy and making it look brand new.
  • You like mechanical puzzles โ€” roles like appliance repair, HVAC maintenance, or light automotive work are a huge plus because you understand how gaskets, O-rings, and pressurized housings fit together perfectly.
  • You already have pool experience โ€” you must confidently know how to fully disassemble and correctly reassemble cartridge and DE grid systems without getting stuck.ย  If notโ€ฆno worries, we train motivated people. You are comfortable using basic smartphone apps and taking clear photo documentation.
  • You want high autonomy. You'll be given your list of jobs for the week, and it's up to you to execute them efficiently and professionally.
  • The Texas heat doesn't scare youโ€ฆ cโ€™mon, it's just Tuesday.
What You Get:
  • $40 per completed filter job (W-2 employment, paid twice a month).
  • True schedule flexibility โ€” pick the days and hours that fit your routine.
  • Steady, consistent workload โ€” steady stream of jobs.
  • All specialized tools, chemicals, and replacement parts provided by the company.
  • A company that runs a tight operation and treats you like a professional.
What We Need From You:
  • A reliable vehicle to get you and your basic gear to the job sites.
  • A smartphone compatible with the Skimmer app.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Physically able to lift and handle heavy pool filter equipment and work outdoors.
  • Demonstrated experience handling pool filter tear-downs (DE and Cartridge) is a huge advantage
