Ascend Mental Health is an outpatient mental health clinic dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and supporting individuals and families as they ascend to their highest potential. Our multidisciplinary team provides therapy, psychiatric rehabilitation, and medication management services across the Baltimore metro area.
Position Overview

Ascend Mental Health is seeking a Part-Time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to serve as Medical Director. This leadership role balances clinical care and program oversight, ensuring excellence in medication management and alignment with agency quality and compliance standards. The PMHNPMedical Director collaborates closely with the Director of Operations, Clinical Supervisor, and Program Director to support the growth, effectiveness, and integrity of Ascends clinical programs.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care.
  • Review and approve treatment plans for clients receiving medication services.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures.
  • Maintain timely and compliant documentation within 48 hours of service delivery.
  • Participate in leadership, quarterly staff, and strategic planning meetings.
  • Provide clinical consultation and mentorship to staff and collaborate on complex cases.
  • Contribute to internal audits, peer feedback, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Model professionalism, compassion, and accountability aligned with Ascends mission and values.
Schedule & Compensation

  • Status: Part-Time (20 hours per week)
  • Compensation: $65-85/hour (W-2 employee)
  • Pay Frequency: Semi-monthly via direct deposit (1st & 15th)
  • Work Setting: In-person and/or telehealth (as approved by Ascend)
  • Start Date: Week of December 1, 2025

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active, unrestricted State of Maryland CRNP-PMH license
  • Current DEA registration

  • Strong clinical documentation skills and knowledge of Medicaid and Joint Commission standards
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred:

  • Prior leadership or medical director experience
  • Experience working in outpatient or community mental health settings
