Position Summary: Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical plumbing systems across the hospital campus. This role is essential to ensuring a safe, compliant environment that supports uninterrupted patient care. The Plumber will work in both patient care and non-clinical areas while adhering to all infection control, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems throughout the facility
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues with urgency to minimize impact to patient care operations
  • Respond to emergency conditions including leaks, system failures, and drainage issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with department schedules and regulatory standards
  • Replace and repair plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, showers, valves, and safety equipment
  • Support construction and renovation activities; comply with ICRA and PCRA requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation using CMMS systems
  • Coordinate work with clinical departments to ensure minimal disruption and patient safety
  • Adhere to applicable codes and standards including local plumbing codes, NFPA, CMS, and The Joint Commission
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours response as required

Required Education and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid State of Illinois Plumbing License required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of plumbing experience required
  • Working knowledge of plumbing systems required
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment preferred
  • Familiarity with ICRA and PCRA processes preferred
  • Experience using CMMS systems preferred
