Position: Homestay Coordinator

Organization: Internexus Los Angeles

Internexus Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic, organized, and enthusiastic Homestay Coordinator to join our team. As a language institute, we are dedicated to providing a high-quality, immersive learning experience for our international students. The Homestay Coordinator plays a crucial role in that experience by overseeing the placement and ongoing support of our students in homestay families.

This is a part time position that could transition to full time as the network expands.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate and oversee the placement process for all incoming international students into homestay families

- Recruit, screen, and train potential homestay families to ensure a welcoming and supportive environment for our students

- Conduct regular visits to homestay families to monitor student welfare and address any concerns

- Resolve any issues that may arise between homestay families and students, providing support and guidance as needed

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of homestay families and students, including housing contracts and emergency contact information

- Work closely with the academic team to ensure the smooth integration of homestay students into the language program

- Collaborate with the admissions team to coordinate timely arrivals and departures of homestay students

- Provide orientation sessions for new homestay families and students, offering guidance on cultural and communication differences

- Plan and organize cultural activities and events for homestay students to enhance their experience in Los Angeles

Qualifications:

- Fluent in English (spoken and written), multilingualism is a plus

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of cultural competency

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills

- Ability to handle and resolve conflicts in a calm and professional manner

- Knowledge of local immigration laws and regulations related to housing for international students

- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed

- Must have reliable transportation to conduct home visits

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Hospitality, International Relations, Education, etc.), preferred

- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a language institute or international education environment, is desirable
