Desert Highlands Association/Golf Club is looking for a Residential Services Inspector to provide Residential Services to our Members.
The Residential Services Team at Desert Highlands is committed to enhancing the lifestyle of our members by providing personalized support for a wide range of needs. From routine home inspections to changing air filters, light bulbs, and water softener salt, the team ensures members' homes are well-maintained and cared for. We also offer trusted referrals for home repair vendors and provide oversight of residences while members are away-offering valuable peace of mind. Upon their return, members can expect helpful, concierge-style services to ease their transition back home.
The Residential Services Inspector plays a key role in this commitment, performing thorough home inspections primarily while members are away, ensuring that their property remains secure, functional, and well cared for in their absence.
Primary Purpose:
Follows a designated route, inspects member homes for specific maintenance and security issues per customized Residence Inspection Agreement. Records findings and prepares daily reports. Admits vendors and other service personnel as needed. Perform other duties upon member requests. Must maintain the Desert Highlands' mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors; excellence and competence, collaboration, innovation, and commitment to our community, and accountability and ownership.
Operational Hours Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm.
1 - 2 days a week October - May with opportunity for more hours June - September.
  • Follows a route and a schedule with the assistance of the Coordinator; completes responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Enters Member homes using a standardized check-list to check for problems. Verifies functionality of various utilities or devices as requested by the homeowner such as checking running water/leaks/pipe connection, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, toilets, check door & window locks, pests, main panel/breakers, pool and spa, perimeter of home, and driving vehicles to avoid dead batteries and ensure proper operations. Records status of premises and notifies Add follow-up items to daily inspection report as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities related to caring for member's homes as they occur per inspection via GoCanvas app.
  • Responsible for monthly air filter changes and residential salt systems. Maintains proper filter and salt inventories based on needs. Ability to carry and use a large ladder for assigned duties.
  • Communicates all on-going activities and outstanding duties to Residential Services Supervisor in real time.
  • Coordinate with Coordinator and/ or Security for Admits by outside vendors for access to the residences per homeowner requests.
  • Light Housekeeping duties as deemed necessary, i.e., possible vacuuming, trash removal, picking up dead bugs, rinsing off patios/ furniture, etc.
  • Perform general routine vehicle inspections that require driving vehicles for short distances on property. Driving a stick not required but preferred.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age with a valid Driver License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and clean criminal background check.
• Familiar with basic household utilities such as electrical, gas, and plumbing. Ability to recognize potential or actual problems and sufficiently explain the issue to a contracted repair representative.
• Must have basic knowledge of vehicles and be required to drive them routinely to ensure they are in good working condition and ready to use.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to think clearly and to handle emergency situations calmly and methodically.
• Present a positive, professional image.
• Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented.
• Must have excellent interpersonal as well as superior written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, employees, members and guests.
• Reliable and predictable attendance.
• Exceptional organization skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Ability to understand and interpret written policy.
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills; ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with Outlook is preferred.
Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
• Position is in a private residential community in North Scottsdale, AZ.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand, squat, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and walk.
• Possess excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to continuously stand and/or walk for 8 hours or more.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and lift over head up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to perform common household needs using a ladder at different heights, etc.
• The employee is frequently exposed to outside Phoenix weather conditions and extreme heat.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
The employee is occasionally exposed to Arizona desert wildlife such as snakes, scorpions, spiders, bobcats, javelinas, etc.
