Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The primary objective of the licensed part time teacher is to provide quality childcare, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for children at Oak Academy Early Learning and Preschool. The Teacher enhances the children’s physical, emotional, and mental development through methods and activities.

1.Works with and clearly communicates with children, parents, volunteers, and co-workers toensure and enhance a professional and effective program. Answers/ addresses parents’questions and concerns.

2.Prepares and executes daily lesson plans designed for specific age groups that stimulate andenhance growth socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Handles paperwork andprepares materials.

3.Closely interacts with children managing internal/external activities including field trips,nurturing appropriate growth and development. Supervises children addressing any safetyissues, ensuring a safe environment.

4.Maintains childcare areas so they are neat and orderly; performs clean-up and set-upactivities as requested; conducts light cleaning, sanitizing, laundry, and food service duties.

5.Participates in Childcare Center meetings; contributes ideas/suggestions to enhancedepartment programs and activities.

6.Implements infectious control guidelines and emergency procedures as necessary.

7.Keeps current on educational trends in preschool/day care; utilizes and employs care centerteaching resources that enhance the learning environment.

8.Ensures proper hygiene habits of the children, addressing children and parents as needed.

9.Maintains records of children entrusted to teacher’s care (i.e., meal count, phone numbers,authorized persons for pick-up, etc.)

10.Other duties as assigned.
